Using Live Writer for the first time

I read a post on WordPress about Microsoft’s Live Writer, so I decided to try it out. It gives you more editing options than possible in the standard web interface of WordPress… So far this is looking pretty good. I can access everything which I normally can do in the web interface like Categories, Previews, Drafts etc. So now I’m just trying out different things to add into this post, he he. Could get ugly so watch it.

The Pringles cat is one pop away from retirement… >>

Adding text next to pictures in tables is sure a nice feature. Maybe this was also possible with the standard web editor from WordPress, but Live Writer puts it in my face. Cool. Too bad the alignment options are tucked away in rmb contect menus instead of in a nice toolbar… I’m spoiled, I know.

You can also add Plugins into Live Writer, extending its feature set. Some interesting ones are already available. You can add Digg This icons to your post, or this one can add a Xbox gamertag into your post:

Yup, that’s my gamercard. Lousy Rep eh? I must be really into the Recreation zone :) Hey, but I will work on it once my Xbox is back from its trip to Germany and back. So, plugins are a pretty cool feature of Live Writer. Call me impressed! I’ll be using this instead of the web interface of WordPress for the next few posts to see how cool this tool is.

EDIT: looks like the GamerCard does not work for now. I’ll see what I can do about that…

Now I gotta go back to work on Trapped! See you next time.

I had a pet hamster that escaped from it’s cage, ate it’s way through a tube of those green pringles and then promptly died from an overdose of salt.

    It was a sad day.

Oh dear. I’m sorry for your hamster!

Unfortunately the hamster was a present from my wife. She was none too pleased that my mates and I had got stoned and set it free…

(Just remember kids – don’t feed pringles to hamsters!)
