Loads of work

Hi all! A lot of work has happened behind the scenes of the particle editor project. I’ve done a lot of restructuring and because of that the code behind the engine and the editor has been simplified a lot! The reason that I have been doing this is that somehow the code got complex real fast, because of bas use of extending objects… Also, I’ve ditched the XML loading and saving and went for a .csv format. The editor and engine now can use the same format to load their data, and even better: it’s the same code. :) Scratch one more module from the prerequisites list :) And even better, the editor and engine now also use the same render and update code. This has also, accidentally, fixed some issues I’ve had with sizing and resizing spawners. Things are looking good and once I get the new loading and saving done for all editor objects, I am ready to add more new things! In fact, some stuff that got left behind (like being able to offset your spawners from their emitters) is now built in.

Meanwhile, the ParticlesMax project has generated quite some downloads, so I hope those people will check the new version out when that’s uploaded.

Progress is not as fast as I would like but I am having way to much work and real life obligations at the moment to spend lots of time coding. But I try to get stuff done when I can.

Next week, I’m off to see Neil Young in Rotterdam. I cannot wait!
