Phew, finally, after 20 hours of play I’ve finished Metroid Prime on the Game Cube. I got to 80% completion which is fine by me
I now remember something I forgot along the way: I hate boss fights! I hate em, I hate em. Now I know why Jeff Minter said that his new game Space Giraffe will not have boss fights, but relax stages instead. I think that’s an excellent idea. My new game won’t have boss fights, unless something strange happens to my brain in the next few months.
Getting rid of Ridley was frustrating, and after you enter the Impact Crater, there is the most annoying room in the whole game to go through just to get to the final boss (which, looking back, wasn’t that hard to kill). The annoying room is the one where you have to jump on platforms to get to the top of the room, all the time hindered by metroids, who split in two once you kill them. Numerous times I fell down when I almost reached the top of the room. Very frustrating, and I would like to have a chat with the fellow who designed that room… Just a quiet talk, between the two of us, in a small, badly lit room, you know.
But anyway, overall it’s an awesome game and I will start playing Echoes as soon as I can. Highly recommended!
I’m looking forward to the new Metroid on the Wii. I can’t wait to see how they better this. If only I could get a Wii, sniff. I might get lucky before the new Metroid actually ships
